Zero Waste and Coca-Cola Cup Open the 13th Season of Plazma Youth Sports Games in Serbia
Plazma Youth Sports Games Youth kicked off their 13th season in Serbia with a series of events held from 27 to 30 January in Žabalj, Novi Sad, Srbobran and Bačka Topola, sending a clear message about the power of sport, environmental awareness and healthy habits for children.
Across all four cities, the Zero Waste – Be Part of the Game – Let’s Protect Our Planet programme was delivered through the Green SIM Polygon, where children learned—through play, movement and interactive challenges – how to sort waste properly and build awareness of environmental protection.
Alongside the eco-education activities, children also had the opportunity to compete in the Coca-Cola Cup (futsal), the largest amateur tournament for children in this discipline. Through these initiatives, Plazma Youth Sports Games once again reaffirmed their mission: to make sport accessible to every child – completely free of charge.
The start of the season was symbolically marked by the lighting of the SIM Torch, attended by representatives of local governments – including mayors/municipal presidents and members of local sports councils – as well as numerous primary school students.
This season carries special significance across the region, as Sports Games of Youth celebrate a major milestone – 30 years since the Games were founded—while Serbia proudly enters its 13th season.
Plazma Youth Sports Games continue to promote sport as a symbol of friendship, unity, fair play and healthy development, with a strong focus on educating children about environmental responsibility and sustainable values.
The Games continue throughout February in Kikinda, Odžaci, Pećinci, Zemun, Surčin, Voždovac, Čukarica, Požarevac and Kostolac.
